Business Continuity Planning (BCP)

BCP is an interdisciplinary peer mentoring methodology used to develop a plan for how your company will
recover from any  interrupted critical function(s) within an acceptable amount of time after a disaster or
extended disruption.  If you goal is for a profitable and sustainable business investment this is a critical
component.

Simply put BCP is the how to resume the running of your business or organization once you've been hit by
an emergency or disaster. It could be either a localized mid term loss of power or premises or something as
national and long term as a pandemic illness.

BCP may be a part of an organizational learning effort that helps reduce operational risk associated with lax
information management controls. This process may be integrated with improving information security and
corporate reputation risk management practices.

HOW IT IS DONE.

A completed BCP cycle results in a manual available for reference before, during, and after disruptions have
occurred. Its purpose is to protect the goal of a profitable and sustainable business investment.
